INTRODUCTION
William and Rebeckah Warnock are first found in the Path Valley of Cumberland County, now Franklin County, Pennsylvania, in 1763. Their third son, John, was born in the Path Valley of Pennsylvania in l766 or 1767 so it is estimated that both William and Rebeckah were born during the period l730 to l735 since the oldest child, Jacob, probably was born around l756 or l757. William and Rebeckah moved to the Wheeling, Virginia, area, now West Virginia, in l787. William died in the Wheeling area during l796 and Rebeckah died there in l8l0 or l8ll. Quite likely they both are buried a short distance northeast of Wheeling near the headwaters of Peters Run. This effort represents another update of the original listing, as many new names have been discovered since the last update in August, l996.
Readers should continue to consider this compilation a start rather than an end to the project. There are numerous additional descendants of William and Rebeckah Warnock not included here because of various reasons, among them being matters of priorities and available time regarding the acquisition of additional information. Actually, new descendants probably were born during the compilation period. Please feel free to provide us with additions to the enclosed and we would also appreciate receiving corrections to any errors discovered within.
To make generation counting less confusing, the parents of William and Rebeckah Warnock are considered to be the parental generation; i.e., given the "P" designation. William and Rebeckah are given the "F1" designation; i.e., they represent the first generation of offspring or the first filial generation; their children represent the "F2" generation and so forth.
