WANITA MILLER

NEWCOMERSTOWN — Wanita S. Miller, 76, of West Lafayette, died Monday (Oct. 2, 2000) at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital, Coshocton.

She was born April 28, 1924, in Roscoe, daughter of the late Ross Osborn and Dorothy Mary Lee (Countryman) Phillips.

Mrs. Miller retired in 1987 from Bates Metal, Port Washington, after 23 years of service.

She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church, Newcomerstown, and enjoyed traveling.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

She leaves her husband, Karl D. Miller, whom she married Nov. 15, 1947; a daughter, Mrs. William (Shiela) McCullough of Coshocton; four sons, Wayne (Karen) Patterson and Gary Miller, all of West Lafayette, George (Kathy) Miller of Newcomerstown and Donald (Rosemary) Miller of Plainfield; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three sisters, Florence Reece of Fresno, Caroline Thornsley of West Lafayette and Mrs. Avery (Bonnie) Green of Zanesville; two brothers, Maro (Marie) Phillips and Kenneth (Ivy) Phillips, all of Coshocton.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with services to follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Ramsay officiating.

Burial will be in Coshocton County Memory Gardens, Coshocton.

VIOLET PRESTWOOD

WOODSFIELD — Violet M. Prestwood, 95, of Woodsfield, formerly of Cleveland, died Tuesday (Oct. 3, 2000) at The Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Loudenville.

She was born Feb. 5, 1905, in Cleveland, daughter of the late Joshua and Jenny (Walker) Jones.

Mrs. Prestwood was a member of the United Methodist Church of Woodsfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James I. Prestwood, who died in 1990.

She leaves a daughter, Dorothy Jean and the Rev. Roy A. Walther of Sebring; two grandsons, Roy A. Walther Jr. of Wilmore, Ky., and James R. Walther of Gahanna; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne Walther and Rebecca Katherine Walther.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where services will be 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Lynda Masters officiating.

Burial will in Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield.

JAMES THOMPSON

CADIZ — James Henry Thompson, 100, of Cadiz, died Tuesday (Oct. 3, 2000) at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz.
