WILLIAM BARNETT

BYESVILLE — William R. “Bill” Barnett, 72, of Derwent, died Sunday (Oct. 1, 2000) at his

home, following a short illness.

He was born April 27, 1928, in Derwent, son of the late Clyde E. and Mary (Stevenoir) Barnett.

Mr. Barnett retired from Central Ohio Coal after 30 years of service. He was a member of United

Mine Workers and a Methodist by faith.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having been stationed in Roswell, N.M.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Barnett and Darrell “Oss” Barnett.

He leaves his wife, Carrie M. (Roberts) Barnett of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Kenny (Dale)

Farrar of Buffalo and Mrs. Bob (Gaye) Kackley of Byesville; three brothers, Emil (Louise)

Barnett of Marietta, Clyde “June” Barnett Jr. of Cumberland and Herb (Shirley) Barnett of

Derwent; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Mildred) Clark of Ava, Earline Dettra of Chaseville and Mrs.

Robert (Kay) Dudley of Byesville; four grandchildren, Mrs. Scott (Tammara) Piper, Trudy

Farrar, William Kackley and Alissa Kackley; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Piper and Laurel

Piper; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Black Family Funeral Service, Byesville.

Graveside services and burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Buffalo Cemetery, with the Rev.

Jack Lamneck officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Guernsey Inc.

E.DALE LATIMER

WOODSFIELD — E. Dale Latimer, of Woodsfield, died Saturday (Sept. 30, 2000) at Wheeling

Hospital, Wheeling, W.Va.

He was born in Monroe County, son of the late Rosco R. and Adda (Turner) Latimer.

Mr. Latimer was a graduate of Woodsfield High School. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from

Marietta College and a masters degree in education from Kent State University.

He was a retired school teacher of the Switzerland of Ohio School District, having taught 35

years. He was a veteran of World War II.

He was a member of The United Methodist Church of Woodsfield, Masonic Lodge of

Woodsfield, Scottish Rites Valley of Cambridge, Woodsfield Kiwanis Club and the Ohio School

Counselors Association.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold R. Latimer and Luther Latimer.

He leaves his wife, Doris (Amos) Latimer of Woodsfield; a son, E. Dale Latimer II of Grass

Valley, Calif.; a daughter, Christine Latimer of Woodsfield; two grandchildren, Halie Latimer and

Carter Latimer.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home,

Woodsfield. Masonic Lodge services will be 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Woodsfield United Methodist Church, with the Revs.

Lynda Masters and Richard Wilson officiating.

Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield. Full Military graveside services will be

conducted by Belmont Veterans Council.

BYESVILLE — John Moore Sr., 75, of Byesville, died Sunday (Oct. 1, 2000) at Bethesda

Hospital, Zanesville.

Arrangements are pending at Black Family Funeral Service, Byesville.
