            ZANESVILLE — Gertrude E. Sorg, 79, of Mt. Perry, died Monday
            (Nov. 27, 2000) at her home.

            She was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Lewisville, daughter of the late
            Charles and Gertrude (Crock) Zwick.

            Mrs. Sorg attended St. Nicholas Catholic Church and was a
            50-year member of Timber Run Range.

            She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. Sorg, who died
            Feb. 27, 2000; and a brother, Carl Zwick.

            She leaves six daughters, Mrs. Terry (Shirley) Cooperider of
            Newark, Mrs. Frank (Patricia) Rubeck of Jackson, Tenn., Mrs. Jerry
            (Delores) Gibson of Cambridge, Mrs. Dan (Sandy) Backus,
            Michelle Dosch and Mrs. Rod (Becky) Smith, all of Zanesville; a
            son, Dick (Becky) Sorg of Mt. Perry; 10 grandchildren; four
            great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ella Smithberger of Woodsfield,
            Edna Bjorkman and Mrs. Norbert (Mary) Kress, both of Alliance; a
            brother, Charles (Jo Ann) Zwick of Caldwell.

            Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hillis
            Funeral Home, Zanesville. Christian vigil services will be 7 p.m. at
            the funeral home.

            Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Nicholas
            Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Charles Klinger serving as
            celebrant.

            Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville.

            Memorial contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Church
            Foundation or Timber Run Grange.

            WOODSFIELD — Glenn Steele, 92, of Woodsfield, died Monday
            (Nov. 27, 2000) at Forrest Hill Retirement Community, St.
            Clairsville.

            He was born Sept. 15, 1908, in Woodsfield, son of the late George
            and Anna (Briggs) Steele.

            Mr. Steele was a retired station chief for Texas Eastern
            Transmission Corp., Summerfield.

            He was a member of Buchanan Presbyterian Church, Lewisville,
            where he served as elder, trustee and treasurer. He was a member
            of Masonic Lodge 189, Woodsfield. He was a lifelong resident of
            Monroe County.

            He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Young Steele, who
            died in 1998; five brothers, Alfred I. Steele, C.B. Steele, Arthur
            Steele, G. Roy Steele and O. Russell Steele; and two sisters,
            Maude Steele and M. Audrey Steele Hamilton.

            He leaves four daughters, Norma J. Eells of St. Clairsville, Mrs.
            Gary (Glenna Joy) Graham of Wooster, Mrs. John (Janet S.)
            Pember of Beaumont, Texas, and Mrs. Bernard (Rita S.)
            Braverman of Alpharetta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; five
            great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

            Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Bauer-Turner
            Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where services will be 1 p.m. Saturday
            with the Rev. Colleen Finlay officiating. Masonic Lodge services will
            8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

            Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield.
