Anna Kawa
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Christ the Savior Orthodox
Church, Byesville, for Anna Kawa, 87, of The Beckett House, New
Concord, formerly of North Ninth Street, Byesville, who died
Tuesday (Nov. 21, 2000) at The Beckett House.
The
Rev. Fr. Pavel Soucek will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood
Cemetery.
Friends
may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Black Family Funeral
Service, Byesville; also from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
She
was born Nov. 27, 1912, in Byesville, daughter of the late
George and Mary (Sakach) Veselenak.
Mrs.
Kawa was a homemaker and former employee of Cambridge
Glass Co. She was a member of Christ the Savior Orthodox
Church, Byesville.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kawa, who
died June 12, 1966; four brothers, Steve, George, John and
Michael Veselenak; four sisters, Katherine Wencek, Mary Bailey,
Nellie Belus and infant sister, Evelyn.
She
leaves a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Carlene) Voytko of Byesville;
three grandchildren, Mrs. Rick (Leisa) Hyde of Byesville, Paul
(Wendy) Voytko and Joseph (Kristi) Voytko, both of Cambridge;
two great-grandchildren, Dakota Cody Michael Hyde of Byesville
and Aryssa Madison Voytko of Cambridge; and a godchild, Patty
Jo Veselenak.
Angela K. Marcincavage RN, CRNI
NEWCOMERSTOWN
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Addy
Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, for Angela K. Marcincavage RN,
CRNI, 41, of Guernsey, who died Monday (Nov. 20, 2000).
The
Rev. Carl Chrisman will officiate. Burial will be in Earleys
Cemetery, Newcomerstown.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She
was born March 29, 1959, in Dover, daughter of Betty (Needs)
Meechan of Stone Creek and the late Robert Cramer.
Mrs.
Marcincavage had earned an associate degree in nursing and
was a registered nurse for Dr. Gabriael of Canton. She had
formerly worked at Option Care of Coshocton and Riverside Home
Health of Newcomerstown.
She
was a member of Faith Assembly Full Gospel Church,
Cambridge.
She
leaves her husband, Tom Marcincavage; a daughter, Jessica
Anne Marcincavage, and a son, Jordon Thomas Marcincavage,
both of the home; a brother, Robert (Diane) Cramera, and a sister,
Mrs. Howard (Ann) Heavelyn, both of New Philadelphia; a nephew,
Jeff (Nichole) Mitres of Sherrodsville; a niece, Britney Cramer of
New Philadelphia; step-father, Ted Meechan of Stone Creek.

Cristeta M. Sayat
Cristeta
Macaraig Sayat, 84, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (Nov.
21, 2000) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center following
a brief illness.
She
was born Oct. 27, 1916, in San Juan, Batangas, Philippines,
the oldest of six children of the late Julio Macaraig and Rita Satin.
Mrs.
Sayat graduated from the Philippine Normal College and
Centro Escolar University with a bachelors degree in education.
She then went to Arellano University, where she earned a masters
degree in education. She became a school teacher at San Juan
Batangas Elementary and High Schools. It was there she met
another teacher, Andres Sayat, whom she married on April 14,
1940.
She
continued to teach several subjects, English being her
specialty. She became assistant principal, serving for 15 years.
She was president of the San Juan District Teachers Association in
1973 and retired in 1978 at the age of 62.
Mrs.
Sayat continued her involvement in teaching by conducting
many teachers seminars and conferences and demonstration
classes for training new teachers. She also was active in the San
Juan Catholic Church fund-raisers. She was treasurer of the
Catholic Womens League for several years and participated in the
monthly Bible Group discussions.
In
1989, both she and her husband came to the United States to be
with their son and family. They were faithful parishioners of St.
Benedicts Church, Cambridge, for many years.
She
continued to read avidly and enjoyed needlepoint and
embroidery in her later years.
She
was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Andres
Sayat, who died Feb. 3, 2000.
She
leaves her only child, Dr. Jose Nilo Sayat, and daughter-in-law,
Dr. Nila Sayat; twin grandsons, Drs. Jonathan and Jason Sayat;
grand-daughter-in-law, Dr. Linbee Sayat; brothers, Timoteo and
Octavio Macaraig; sisters, Conchita, Floraluz and Julieta;
sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; nieces and nephews ask to please
pray for the repose of her soul.

may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 6 to 9 p.m.
Thursday, at Scott Funeral Home, Cambridge. Vigil services will be
8:30 p.m. Thursday.
Mass
of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict
Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Walter Buckius serving as
celebrant.
Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
Mary Elizabeth Haren
WOODSFIELD
Mary Elizabeth Haren, 76, of Woodsfield, died
Tuesday (Nov. 21, 2000) at Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital.
She
was born April 21, 1924, in Monroe County, daughter of the
late Clyde and Eloise (Mann) Menkle.
Mrs. Haren was a member of Woodsfield Presbyterian Church.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Haren; a
daughter, Rosemary Grubbs; and a son, James E. Haren.
She
leaves a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Jo Palmer) Eddy of Woodsfield;
a brother, James R. Menkel of Woodsfield; seven grandchildren;
seven step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Bauer-Turner Funeral
Home, Woodsfield, also from 10 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Friday
and the funeral home.
The
Rev. Colleen Finlay will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn
Cemetery, Woodsfield.
Willard Wallace
CADIZ
Willard Wallace, 83, of Cadiz, died Tuesday (Nov. 21,
2000) at The Carriage Inn of Cadiz.
He
was born Oct. 29, 1917, in Cadiz, son of the late Willard and
Katie (Stewart) Wallace Sr.
Mr.
Wallace was a retired custodian at the Presbyterian Church of
Cadiz. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and St.
James A.M.E. Church, both of Cadiz.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Wallace.
He
leaves a niece, Kathy Reed of Cadiz; several cousins, including
locally, Melford F. Wallace of Cadiz; a friend, Sam Taylor of Cadiz.

Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where services will be 11
a.m. Saturday with the Rev. William Hudson officiating.
Burial
will be in Cadiz Union Cemetery.
