KATHRYN PADGETT

                                                                  1918-2001

BYESVILLE — Kathryn Padgett, 83, of Salesville, formerly of Byesville, died Sunday (May 6, 2001) at her home.

She was born Feb. 10, 1918, in Byesville, daughter of the late Louie and Ruth (Peyton) Beatty.

Mrs. Padgett was a 1936 graduate of Byesville High School. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Padgett, in 1986; a brother, Cecil Beatty; and a sister, Eva Pearl Morgan.

She leaves two sons, Dan Hogan of Hamilton, and Gary Lee (Sharon) Padgett of Georgia; two daughters, Mrs. Dana (Judy) Haynes of Byesville, and Mrs. Larry (Debbie) Marlatt of Salesville; a sister, Evelyn Jean Richardson Rogers of Pickerington; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Black Family Funeral Service, Byesville, where services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Donald Parvin officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

CHRISTOPHER SCOTT DENNY

1960-2001

COLUMBUS — Christopher Scott Denny, 41, of Grove City, died Sunday (May 6, 2001) at Kobacker House.

He was born March 24, 1960, in Cambridge, son of Eloise Denny of Grove City, and the late Fred Denny.

Mr. Denny was employed as a broker by Samuel Straping Inc.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, William.

He leaves in addition to his loving mother, Eloise, two sisters, Mrs. David (Vicki) Day of Byesville, and De Denny of Quincy, Ill.; a brother, Fred Robert Denny of Grove City; and a niece, Courtney Denny of Quincy, Ill.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Schoedinger Norris Chapel, Grove City, where services will be 10 a.m. Thursday.

Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 900 Michigan Ave., Columbus, OH 43215-1165.

TOMMY J. ‘BUB’ ROSSITER II

1970-2001

CALDWELL — Tommy J. “Bub” Rossiter II, 30 of Pleasant City, died Saturday (May 5, 2001) at his home.

He was born May 29, 1970, in Cambridge, son of Tommy J. and Delores E. (Hesson) Rossiter of Pleasant City.

Mr. Rossiter was a 1988 graduate of Shenandoah High School. He was an employee of Chapman Excavating in Kent, where he served as an equipment operator.

He was a member of the Union of Operating Engineers in Akron.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Tamara L. Rossiter; and grandfathers, James C. Hesson and Virgil J. Rossiter.

He leaves his wife, Lori A. (Clark) Rossiter, whom he married in 1992; a daughter, Madison Leann Rossiter; a son, Adam Michael Rossiter; a step-son, Mark Addison Rossiter, all of the home; a sister, Mrs. Dana (Lisa K.) Jennings; grandmothers, Mary E. “Judy” Hesson and Betty Irene Rossiter, all of Caldwell; several nieces, nephews and a step-niece.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Larry Copley officiating.

Burial will be in Center Free Methodist Church Cemetery, near Sarahsville.

DAVID W. NICHOLS

1937-2001

BYESVILLE — David W. Nichols, 64, formerly of Byesville, died Saturday (May 5, 2001) at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Jan. 1, 1937, in Byesville, son of the late Walter G. Nichols and Jean Nichols Burt.
Mr. Nichols was a certified journeyman electrician by trade. He was a member of VFW Post 8040 and a former master mason of Lodge 386 in Muskingum County.

He was a graduate of Byesville High School and a Methodist by faith.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Reid.

He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Heather (Brad) Kalista of Westerville, and Mrs. James (Holly Nichols) Masters of California; two sisters, Mrs. Dan (Joanne) Everhart of Maumee, and Mrs. Wib (Mary Jane) Jerles of Seneca Lake; a grandson, Andrew; his step-father, Richard Burt; a brother-in-law, John Reid; a very special friend, Gayle Redmann; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Black Family Funeral Service, Byesville, where services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Pat Reiter officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville.  Military graveside services will be conducted by Guernsey County Veterans  Council.

WILLIAM RAYMOND COX

BYESVILLE — William Raymond Cox, 86, of Byesville, died Sunday (May 6, 2001) at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cambridge.

Arrangements are pending at Black Family Funeral Service, Byesville.
