Miles Stanley 'Jiggs' Gibbons

BARNESVILLE — Miles Stanley “Jiggs” Gibbons, 79, of St. Clairsville, formerly of Barnesville, died Thursday (May 3, 2001) at Park Health Center, St. Clairsville.

He was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Jerusalem, son of the late Irvy and Lettie (Stills) Gibbons.

Mr. Gibbons was a Protestant by faith.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Lawrence, Earl, Russell, Donald and Homer Gibbons; and a sister, Edith Gibbons.

He leaves three sisters, Mary Costello and Janet Whiteley, both of Barnesville, and Bernice Loper of Massillon; a brother, Lesser “Archie” Gibbons of Barnesville; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, Barnesville, where services will be 1 p.m. Sunday.

Burial will be in Somerton Cemetery.

Lucy E. Nolan

WOOSTER — Lucy E. Nolan, 84, of Wooster, died Thursday (May 3, 2001) at Wooster Community Hospital.

She was born Dec. 8, 1916, in Barnesville, daughter of the late William A. and Vesta (McLaughlin) Hutchison.

Mrs. Nolan had worked for six years in Barnesville as a beautician. She also worked for the Hutchison Box Factory for many years.

She was a member of First Methodist Church, Barnesville.

She had moved from Barnesville to Wooster in 1972.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor B. Nolan, on June 9, 1987. They were married May 5, 1942. Also deceased are three brothers, Elmer, Johnny and James F. Hutchison; and two sisters, Gene Hutchison Deem and Mary Isabel Smith.

She leaves a son, Roy Hutchison Nolan of Wooster; and a brother, Thomas Hutchison of Reynoldsburg.

No calling hours will be observed.

Graveside services and burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville, with the Rev. David McKinnon officiating.

McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, Wooster, is handling the arrangements.

Jeffery Aaron 'Cookie' Feldner

CALDWELL — Jeffery Aaron “Cookie” Feldner, 47, of Caldwell, died Thursday (May 3, 2001) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge.

He was born April 17, 1954, in Caldwell, son of Cleo M. (Thompson) Feldner of Caldwell, and the late Chester Leland “Boob” Feldner.

Mr. Feldner was a 1972 graduate of Caldwell High School. He was employed by Dana Corp. of Caldwell, where he served as a press operator.

He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and the Caldwell Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death a sister, M. Emalene Scheich.

He leaves four brothers, Gail (Donna) Feldner of Caldwell, Lloyd (Sheila) Feldner of Hiramsburg, Norman (Jackie) Feldner and LaVerne (Belinda) Feldner, all of Caldwell; a brother-in-law, Kenneth K. Scheich of Caldwell; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where Christian scripture service will be 9 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell, with the Rev. Father Dale Tornes serving as celebrant.

Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Caldwell.

Helen T. Hammond service

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, for Helen T. Hammond, 88, formerly of Cambridge, who died Friday (April 27, 2001) at Parkview Regional Hospital, Vicksburg, Miss.

The Rev. Dr. Ronald Fleming will officiate. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Gerald 'Weas' Nelson service

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, for Gerald “Weas” Nelson, 45, of Cambridge, who died Tuesday (May 1, 2001) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center.

The Rev. Sturman Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, near Claysville.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
