William L. Wolfe

ZANESVILLE — William L. Wolfe, 60, of New Concord, died Tuesday (May 8, 2001) at Hospice of Genesis.

He was born Aug. 5, 1940, in New Lexington, son of the late James J. and Margaret (Page) Wolfe.

Mr. Wolfe retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Newark, where he served as an electrician.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He leaves his wife, Virginia L. (Gard) Wolfe, whom he married Feb. 2, 1985; a daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Stacey) Baldwin of Zanesville; a son, Curtis Wolfe of Houston, Texas; three step-sons, Anthony (Marinne) Beardmore of El Paso, Texas, David Michael Beardmore of Zanesville, and Heath A. (Shirley) Beardmore of Columbus; two grandchildren, Stevie and Sydney Baldwin; nine step-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Lewis of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Richard and Joe Wolfe of Buckeye Lake, and Tim Wolfe of Florida.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hillis Funeral Home, Zanesville, where a memorial service will follow at 8 p.m.

Lola V. Burke

WOODSFIELD — Lola V. Burke, 82, of Beallsville, Ozark Community, died Wednesday (May 9, 2001) at Wetzel County Hospital, New Martinsville, W.Va.

Arrangements are pending at Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield.

Herbert H. Buchanan

NEWCOMERSTOWN — Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, for Herbert H. Buchanan, 71, of Kimbolton, who died Tuesday (May, 8, 2001) at his home.

The Rev. Richard Treat will officiate. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown. Military graveside services will be conducted by Newcomerstown Veterans Organization.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was born July 18, 1929, in Saulsville, W.Va., son of the late Thomas W. and Louisa J. (Milam) Buchanan.

Mr. Buchanan was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War and was a former P.O.W.

He was a farmer and a former coal miner for Peabody Coal Co.

He was a member of American Legion Post 431, VFW Post 3303, both of Newcomerstown.

He was an avid hunter.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

He leaves his wife, Reva (Cook) Buchanan, whom he married Feb. 5, 1954; four sons, Garry (Jackie) Buchanan of Coshocton, Roger (Rita) Buchanan and Michael (Porsha) Buchanan, all of West Lafayette, and Terry (Cyndy) Buchanan of Newcomerstown; 10 grandchildren, Garry Jr., Melissa, Valerie, Colton, Bradon, Lynzee, Karley, Kyle, Emily and Cassidy; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Erinn; five sisters, Pearl Halsey of Princeton, W.Va., Cora Halsey and Eva Halsey, both of Pineville, W.Va., Marie Styles of Glenfork, W.Va., and Gay Matheny of Detroit, Mich.

Russell Dean Frasher

BARNESVILLE — Russell Dean Frasher, 50, of Las Vegas, Nev., died Sunday (April 1, 2001) in Las Vegas.

He was born Aug. 6, 1950, in Barnesville, son of the late John Wilkes and Margaret J. (Kemp) Frasher.

Mr. Frasher was a 1968 graduate of Barnesville High School. He was a construction worker and was a Protestant by faith.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Allen Frasher.

He leaves two sons, Russ Cunard of Somerton, and Brent Frasher, serving in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany; a sister, Shirley Keadle of Barnesville; a brother, Terry Frasher of Sebring; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Southern Cemetery, Barnesville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, Barnesville, is handling the arrangements.

Mary G. Meyer

ZANESVILLE — Services will be 11 a.m. today at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Zanesville, for Mary G. Meyer, 79, of Zanesville, who died Tuesday (May 8, 2001) at Hospice of Genesis, Zanesville.

The Rev. Father James C. Csaszar will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville.
Friends may call from 9 to 10:45 a.m. today at Hillis Funeral Home, Zanesville.

She was born April 11, 1922, in Cambridge, daughter of the late John and Mary (Bercheny) Divinsky.

Mrs. Meyer was member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Meyer; and a brother, John E. Divinsky.

She leaves a daughter, Mary K. Meyer of the home; two sons, Richard H. Meyer and William Hansen; two grandsons, Anthony and Wayne Hansen; a sister, Mrs. Melvin N. (Julianna) Doane of Cambridge; several nieces and nephews.
