THELMA C. ACKLEY

                                                                  

1913-2001

CALDWELL — Thelma C. Ackley, 87, of Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell, died Sunday (March 4, 2001) at the nursing home.

She was born Oct. 26, 1913, in Caldwell, daughter of the late James and Barbara (Schockling) Ackley Sr.

Miss Ackley worked at Caldwell Produce and was a cook at Robeys Restaurant. She retired from Caldwell Senior Citizens Center, where she served as a cook.

She attended Ackley School.

She was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church, Caldwell, where she was also a member of Catholic Women’s Club.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Bridgman and Mildred Ogle; a niece; and a nephew.

She leaves two sisters, Emma Estadt and Mary L. Michel, both of Caldwell; a brother, James R. Ackley of Caldwell; 24 nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Murphy-McCurdy Funeral Home, Caldwell, where Christian wake services will be 7:30 p.m.

Services will be noon Tuesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell, with the Rev. Father Dale Tornes officiating.

Burial will be in Olive Cemetery, Caldwell.

ESTHER CAROLINE SMITH

1914-2001

Esther Caroline Smith, 86, of Cambridge, formerly of Holton and Versailles, Ind., died Saturday (March 3, 2001) at Coshocton Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 26, 1914, in Cincinnati, daughter of the late John and Minnie (Weber) Kline.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and retired from Muscatatuck State School.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Olean, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett David Smith, in 1978. They were married June 26, 1937. Also deceased are two sisters and two brothers.

She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Shirley) Spilker of Cambridge and Betty Ashcraft of Cincinnati; a son, David A. Smith of Texas; a sister, Edna Lipez of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 11 to 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Olean, Ind., with services to follow at 1 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Marcus Felde will officiate.

Burial will be in Holton Cemetery, Otter Creek Township, Ind.

Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, is handling local arrangements.

RUSSELL ‘RUSS’ McCLELLAND

1949-2001

BYESVILLE — Russell “Russ” McClelland, 51, of Senecaville, died Saturday (March 3, 2001) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge.

He was born June 13, 1949, in Fondulac, Wis., son of Gemaine (Durben) Schwoeror of Manitowac, Wis., and the late Joseph McClelland.

Mr. McClelland was a sales representative for Phillip Morris USA, and was a member of Buffalo VFW Post 8040.

He was a 1967 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed his cars, golfing, softball and the Cleveland Browns.

He leaves his wife, Carolyn (Edwards) McClelland of Senecaville, whom he married Oct. 5, 1968; three sons, Derek R. (Amy) McClelland of Cambridge, Deron M. (Monica) McClelland of Columbus, and Dustin Alan McClelland of Senecaville; a daughter, Mrs. Dwight (Amy) Moore of Cumberland; a grandson, Garrett Russell Moore; three brothers, Rodney “Chip” (Kathy) McClelland and Joseph (Allison) McClelland, all of Cambridge, and Jody McClelland of Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Bill (Cheryl) Shivers of Byesville; three step-sisters, Connie Moore of Kipling, Patty Harbin of Senecaville, and Debbie Wamer of Byesville; his mother-in-law, Mabel Edwards of Byesville; his step-father, Ervin Schwoeror of Manitowac, Wis., and his step-mother, Joan McClelland of Senecaville.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Black Family Funeral Service, Byesville, where services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday with Evangelist Dick Harris officiating. Military rites will be at the conclusion of the services.

Burial will be at a later date. (Paid)

ANDREW YAKUBIK JR.

LAKEWOOD — Andrew Yakubik Jr., 46, died Saturday (March 3, 2001) in Lakewood.

He was the son of Andrew and Helen (Raycher) Yakubik Sr.

He leaves two brothers, Donald J. and Michael J.; and three nephews, Benjamin, Matthew and John Andrew.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Joseph Misencik Funeral Home, Lakewood.

Burial will be in Cambridge.

LOREN RIBLETT

BYESVILLE — Loren Riblett, 54, of Senecaville, died Sunday (March 4, 2001) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge.
