Clara E. 'Kay' Casey

CALDWELL — Clara E. “Kay” Casey, 58, formerly of Mt. Ephraim, a resident of Crestview Health Care Center, St. Clairsville, died Thursday (March 29, 2001) at Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital.

She was born Oct. 23, 1942, in Mt. Ephraim, daughter of Orville W. Casey of Mt. Ephraim and the late Mary M. (Moore) Casey, who died July 21, 1996.

Mrs. Casey attended the Belco Crafts and School of Bright Promise and Mt. Ephraim United Methodist Church.

She leaves a sister, Erma Wiley of Mt. Ephraim; a brother, Donald G. Moore of Belle Valley; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Burial will be in Mt. Ephraim Cemetery.

Mary Elizabeth Taylor

NEW CONCORD — Mary Elizabeth Taylor, 69, of New Concord, died Wednesday (March 28, 2001) at The Beckett House, New Concord, following a brief illness.

She was born June 21, 1931, in Cambridge, daughter of the late Berl H. and Velma Mae (Stackhouse) Brill.

Mrs. Taylor retired in 1988 from Kroger of Cambridge after 41 years of service. She was a member of Bloomfield Presbyterian Church, New Concord Garden Club and U.F.C.W. of Columbus.

She leaves her husband, John W. Taylor, whom she married Sept. 28, 1951; three sisters, Nettie R. Leighner and Margaret Emily Zipperich, both of Cambridge, and Ruth Ann Dunfee of Bowling Green, Ky.; two brothers, James B. Brill of Cambridge and Robert L. Brill of Corning; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Mock-Miller Funeral Home, New Concord, where services will be 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Martin Radcliff officiating.

Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.

Earl L. Russell

LOUISVILLE — Earl L. Russell, 77, of Louisville, formerly of Cambridge, died Wednesday (March 28, 2001) at Alliance Community Hospital.

He was born May 10, 1923, in Byesville, son of the late Albert and Olive (Knight) Russell.

Mr. Russell retired from McCurdy Inc. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Russell, and two sisters, Helen Allbritain and Roberta Morris.

He leaves his wife, Althea; a daughter, Janet Russell of Canton; a son, Jonathan Russell of Louisville; two sisters, Mary Frakes and Doris Haines, both of Canton; and a granddaughter.

No calling hours will be observed.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chapel at Sunset Hills Burial Park with Pastor Bonnie Gerber officiating.

Stier-Israel Funeral Home, Louisville, is handling the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, or the charity of one’s choice.

Wilbur 'Wib' Huggins

Wilbur “Wib” Huggins, 88, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (March 28, 2001) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 23, 1912, in Pinegrove, W.Va., son of the late Wyle H. and Ara (Morgan) Huggins.

Mr. Huggins retired from Boyd’s Art Glass in Cambridge, where he served as a glass worker.

He was a member of VFW Post 2901 and a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ardyth and Ralph Huggins; and a sister, Edna Weekley.

He leaves his wife, Glenda G. (Ault) Huggins of Columbus, whom he married Feb. 13, 1974; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Lisa) Daugherty of Cambridge and Trisha R. Huggins of Columbus; three sisters, Mary Alwilda Watson of Cambridge, Vashti Chewning of Eden, N.C., and Doris Eagleson of Wakeman; two brothers, Wyle Huggins of Canton and Ross Huggins of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Danielle, Dustin and Devaney, all of Cambridge; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will follow at 3 p.m. with Evangelist Woody Biggs officiating.
