Edith Collins

WOODSFIELD — Edith P. Collins, 74, of Sardis, died Monday (March 19, 2001) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 5, 1926, in Barberton, daughter of the late Wesley and Pearl (Thornton) Wilson.

Mrs. Collins retired from Yoder Greenhouse, Barberton.

She was preceded in death by a brother; and a sister.

She leaves two sons, Stanley Wayne Collins of Wadsworth and Chris Collins of West Salem; a daughter, Nancy Miller of Crockett, Ky.; a brother, Robert Wilson of Clinton; two sisters, Thelma McRoe and Virgina Bosick, both of Ohio; and 13 grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where services will be 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Lynda Masters officiating.

Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, Antioch.

Florence Eulenberg

Florence Eulenberg, 89, of Kimbolton, died Wednesday (March 21, 2001) at Bell Nursing Home, Kimbolton.

Arrangements are pending at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge.

Pearl Householder

LONDONDERRY — Pearl S. Householder, 87, died Tuesday (March 20, 2001) at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born near Huntington, W.Va., daughter of the late Andrew and Druzilla Simpkins.

Mrs. Householder will be remembered for her Christian faith, her compassion and the wonderful meals she served at Camp Presmont. When questioned as to what the secret ingredient was for her “good cooking,” she replied, “love.”

Family and friends celebrate her life and thank God for sharing her with us.
She was a member of Oak Grove Calvary Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H.L. “Red” Householder, who died in 1972; six brothers; and five sisters.

She leaves a daughter, Mrs. John (Bev) Duffy of Freeport; two sons, Raymond L. (Dorothy) Householder of Piedmont and Charles (Kathy) Householder of Seymour, Conn.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Bond Funeral Home, Londonderry, where services will be 1 p.m. Friday with Pastor Bob Merritt officiating.

Private burial will be at Holly Memorial Gardens, Harrisville.

Norma Hutcheson

TROY — Norna Eileen Hutcheson, 77, of Dexter City, died Friday (March 16, 2001) at Northwest Ohio Hospice, Perrysburg, following a short illness.

She was born July 2, 1923, in Dexter City, daughter of the late Loren and Icel (Gardner) Hutcheson.

Mrs. Hutcheson retired from Fleeman Motors, Caldwell, where she served as a secretary. She was a member of Dexter City United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Loren Hutcheson.

She leaves a sister-in-law, Beverly Hutcheson of Troy; a niece, Cheryl Pocrnich of Waterville; two nephews, Jeff Hutcheson of Apple Valley, Minn., and Jon Hutcheson of Arlington, Va.; five great-nephews and nieces and many cousins.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Dexter City United Methodist Church, Dexter City, with the Rev. Kevin Lauer officiating.

Burial will follow in Dexter City Cemetery. Family will receive friends immediately following services.

Wayne Hutchison

BARBERTON — Wayne C. Hutchison, 61, of Barberton, died Tuesday (March 20, 2001).

Mr. Hutchison was a Barberton resident most of his life. He retired from KeyCorp after 23 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Martha; and a brother, Carl.

He leaves two sons, Jeff (Michelle) of Wooster and Jason (Dena) of Barberton; a daughter, Jennifer of Alabama; five grandchildren; four sisters, Verna of Mogadore, Anna (Dale) of California, Freda (Bob) of Manchester, Lela (Kenny) of Cambridge; five brothers, Leland, Gene (Toni) of Cambridge, Roy (Jean) of Findley, Paul (Marion) of Stow and Francis (Betty) of Canton; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and also 10 a.m. Friday at Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton.

Graveside services and burial will be 1 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, New Concord.

Jessie Jones

Jessie Belle (Pyles) Jones, 84, of Zanesville, died Wednesday (March 21, 2001) at ODC Nursing Home, Zanesville.

Helen Major

CADIZ — Helen L. Major, 98, of Cadiz, formerly of Route 1, Flushing, died Wednesday (March 21, 2001).

Arrangements are pending at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz.

Bertha Smith

NEWCOMERSTOWN — Bertha Forest Smith, 93, of West Lafayette, died Monday (March 19, 2001) at Coshocton County Hospital Extended Care, Coshocton.

She was born June 11, 1907, in Newcomerstown, daughter of the late George and Laura (Evans) Kedigh.

Mrs. Smith was a 1926 graduate of Newcomerstown High School and also from Muskingum College, where she earned a BA in education.

She taught in the Lowgap and Marlatt’s Run Schools. She worked at the Washington, D.C., Bureau of Engraving for 11 years. She had taught in Coshocton public schools from 1948 to 1956; and from 1957 to 1970 in Norwalk schools. She retired from teaching in 1970.

She was a member of Isleta United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years and was a former member and secretary of United Methodist Women at the church. She was a member of State Teacher’s Retirement Association and Farm Bureau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Smith, who died Feb. 13, 1990. They were married Nov. 21, 1956. Also deceased are two brothers, Roy Kedigh and Charles Kedigh; and a sister, Alta Wilson.

She leaves three sons, the Rev. Lloyd Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Theodoric “Ted” (Jane) Smith of Kent and Lewis (Rita) Smith of Kirkwood, Mo.; special children, Owen “Gene” (Betty) Ward and family; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Blanche Hill and Mrs. Lewis (Mary Alice) Little, all of Newcomerstown.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Isleta United Methodist Church with the Revs. Paul Gerycz and Lloyd Smith officiating.

Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown.

Garry Smith

ZANESVILLE — Garry L. Smith, 60, of Chandlersville, died Monday (March 19, 2001) at his home.

He was born July 7, 1940, in Zanesville, son of the late George E. Smith and Geraldine (Dusenberry) Smith Bright.

Mr. Smith was an employee of P.L. Marketing. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen S. (Householder) Smith, who died March 19, 2001.

He leaves a daughter, Lisa Sureneranath of Columbus; two sons, Mark (Kumod) Smith of Easley, S.C., and Douglas Smith of Mt. Vernon; a step-daughter, Chrystal Caples of Zanesville; a step-son, Eli Caples of Columbus; two grandsons, Nikhil Karan and Braxton Gillogly; a granddaughter, Elaina Smith; and a brother, Robert G. Smith of Columbus.

Karen Smith

ZANESVILLE — Karen S. (Householder) Smith, 42, of Chandlersville, died Monday (March 19, 2001) at her home.

She was born July 11, 1958, in Cambridge, daughter of the late Virgil “Shorty” and Sharon (Hill) Householder.

Mrs. Smith was a travel agent at AAA Travel Agency in Zanesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died March 19, 2001.

She leaves a daughter, Chrystal Caples of Zanesville; a son, Eli Caples of Columbus; a step-daughter, Lisa Sureneranath of Columbus; two step-sons, Mark (Kumod) Smith of Easley, S.C., and Douglas Smith of Mt. Vernon; two grandsons, Nikhil Karan and Braxton Gillogly; a granddaughter, Elaina Smith; a brother, Randy Householder of Salesville; and a sister, Cheryl Xanders of Quaker City.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hillis Funeral Home, Zanesville, where services will be 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Larry Kudart officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park, Zanesville.

Wilma Waller

CADIZ — Wilma V. (Twigg) Waller, 91, of Cadiz, died Tuesday (March 20, 2001) at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz.

She was born May 10, 1909, in Kenwood, daughter of the late Wilbur and Sara (Stevens) Twigg.
Mrs. Waller attended Springdale Friends Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Waller, who died in 1952; an infant son, Carl Singhaus; five brothers, Carl, Russell, Howard, Floyd and Wilmer Twigg; and two sisters, Inez Smith and Mary Harriman.

She leaves two sons, Myron Singhaus of Orlando, Fla., and Ronald Waller of Adena; two daughters, Wanda Randazzo of Canton and Mary Kasarda of New Athens; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 19 step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna McDevitt and Muriel Pecenka both of Cadiz.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where services will be 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Paul Hamilton officiating.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Jewett.

Anna Withrow

BETHESDA — Anna Pearl (Bishop) Withrow, 74, of Bethesda, died Monday (March 19, 2001) at Barnesville Hospital.

She was born Nov. 30, 1926, in Neffs, daughter of the late Clarence and Myrtle (Neiswanger) Bishop.

Mrs. Withrow was a homemaker and member of Ebenezer Baptist Church of Bethesda.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Withrow; a sister, Verna Drzinski; and two brothers, Chet and Raymond Bishop.

She leaves two daughters, Carole Pruitt and Shirley McEndree; three sons, Jerry, Allen and Mark Withrow, all of Bethesda; three sisters, Helen Sall and Judy Boich, both of Barnesville, and Mildred Mazzuli of Donnersville; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

NEWCOMERSTOWN — Wendell J. Yanai, 91, of Newcomerstown, died Tuesday (March 20, 2001) at St. Ann’s Hospital, Westerville.
