Pauline Belt

Word has been received of the death of Pauline (Shaw) Belt, of Williamsburg, Va., formerly of Cambridge, who died Monday (March 12, 2001) in Williamsburg.

She was born in Guernsey County, daughter of the late Clair and Emma Shaw.

Mrs. Belt was a graduate of Cambridge High School and also a graduate from the nursing program at Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Shaw and Richard “Dick” Shaw.

She leaves her husband, Col. Richard Belt of Williamsburg, Va., a native of Bellaire; two sons, Rick and Douglas Belt; and a daughter, Barbara; several cousins of the Cambridge area.

Services and burial will be in Williamsburg, Va.

Margaret Taylor

BARNESVILLE — Margaret (Ramsay) Taylor, 85, of Longwood, Fla., formerl

y of Belmont, died Thursday (March 15, 2001) at Palm Gardens Nursing Home, Orlando, Fla.She was born March 16, 1915, in Jacobsburg, daughter of the late Emmett and Hattie (Simpson) Ramsay.

Mrs. Taylor was a member of Belmont Methodist Episcopal Church. She was a 1933 graduate of Belmont High School and a 1936 graduate of Reynolds Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.

She began her long career as a registered nurse at Barnesville Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick “Ted” Taylor.

She leaves a brother, Robert Ramsay of Longwood, Fla.; and a sister, Helen E. Somerlade of El Toro, Calif.

Graveside services and burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville.

Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, Barnesville, is handling the arrangements.

Emma Jean Baker

BYESVILLE — Emma Jane Baker, infant daughter of Michael and Amy Baker of Byesville, died Wednesday (March 14, 2001) at Genesis-Bethesda Hospital, Zanesville.

She is survived by two sisters, Theresa Mae and Rachel; grandparents, Russell and Donna Baker of Byesville, Thomas and Theresa Clauss of Kings Mine, and Tom and Bev VanDyne of Cambridge; great-grandparents, Mary Rocker of Kings Mine, Mabel VanDyne of New Concord, and Jo Watson of Cambridge; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant City Cemetery with Pastor Fred Barrett officiating.

Black Family Funeral Service, Byesville, is handling the arrangements.

Alice E. Mallett

SUMMERFIELD — Alice E. Mallett, 94, of Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell, formerly of Bean Ridge Road, Summerfield, died Thursday (March 15, 2001) at the nursing home.

She was born Oct. 8, 1906, near Marietta, daughter of the late William and Rebecca (Miller) McElfresh.

Mrs. Mallett was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Mallett, in August 1961; two sisters, Sylvia Starkey and Dolly Barnes; four brothers, Noble McElfresh, Glenn McElfresh, Taft McElfresh and Theodore McElfresh.

She leaves two sons, David Mallett of Crooksville and Larry (Donna) Mallett of Summerfield; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Eileen) Srail of Galloway and Mrs. George (Anne) Cude of Ft. Worth, Texas; a sister, Violet Dewey of Bradenton, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Brubach-Watters Funeral Home, Summerfield, where services will be 11 a.m. Monday with Frank Love officiating.

Burial will be in Olive Cemetery, Caldwell.

Paul Macenko

CALDWELL — Paul Macenko, 70, of Caldwell, died Wednesday (March 15, 2001) at his home.
Arrangements are pending at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell.
