ANNA NELMS BEETHAM
1925-2001

CADIZ — Anna (Nelms) Beetham, 75, of Cadiz, died Saturday (Feb. 3, 2001) at Wheeling Medical Park Hospital, Wheeling, W.Va.

She was born Oct. 22, 1925, in Crucible, Pa., daughter of the late Harvey J. Nelms Sr. and Phoebe (Pollock) Nelms.

Mrs. Beetham was a 1943 graduate of Cadiz High School. She received her bachelor of science in nursing degree from The Ohio State University in 1947.

She was a member of the board of trustees of Community Mental Health Services of Belmont, Harrison and Monroe Counties; the Ohio Nursing Association; Unionport Chapter 360; Order of the Eastern Star; and Scott Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Thomas de Beetham; two brothers, Harvey J. Nelms Jr. and George Charles Nelms; and a sister, Martha Nelms Johnson.

She leaves a sister, Mrs. Dr. Sidney (Harriet Nelms) Steele of Charleston, Ill.; two sons, Rupert N. and T. Mark of Cadiz; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Robert Hooker officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.

James R. Douglass, 76, of Cambridge, died Sunday (Feb. 4, 2001) at his home.

Arrangements are pending at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge.

THOMAS A. MOORE

CALDWELL — Thomas A. Moore, 56, of Caldwell, died unexpectedly Sunday (Feb. 4, 2001) at his home.

Arrangements are pending at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell.

PENNY S. TALBERT

1958-2001

CANTON — Penny S. Talbert, 42, of Massillon, died Saturday (Feb. 3, 2001) at Aultman Hospital, Canton, following an extended illness.

She was born June 4, 1958, in Lima, daughter of Shelby Carson of Cambridge and the late George Carson.

Mrs. Talbert was a 1976 graduate of Glen Oak High School. She was employed as a radiologic technologist at Aultman Hospital for 21 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Massillon.

She leaves her husband, Terry, and a daughter, Elizabeth Talbert, both of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Debra) Johnson of Massillon and Mrs. John (Nancy) Winsett of Akron; two brothers, William (Linda) Carson of Stow and Charles (Leslie) Carson of Alabama; maternal grandmother, Lillian Gatten of Uhrichsville; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Reed Funeral Home, Canton, where the services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Leslie A. Peine officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.

HELEN D. CASTERLINE SERVICES

1914-2001

QUAKER CITY — Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Middlebourne United Methodist Church, for Helen D. Casterline, 86, formerly a resident of Middlebourne for 65 years and also formerly of Cambridge, who died Wednesday (Jan. 31, 2001), in Rockaway Beach, Mo., at her daughter’s home.

The Rev. Beth Stillwagon will officiate. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Middlebourne United Methodist Church.

Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, is handling the arrangements.
