Janet “Jan” Phleger

LONDON — Janet “Jan” Phleger, 56, of London, died Sunday (Feb. 18, 2001) at her home.

She was born Dec. 13, 1944, in Zanesville, daughter of Myrl and Olive (Pickenpaugh) Paisley.

Mrs. Phleger was formerly employed as a computer operator for the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. and Ameritech. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of London, where she served on several committees and was a member of the Special Christian Action Sunday School Class. She was a 4-H leader for the Clover Creations club for 10 years and was a Red Coat for The Ohio State University. She was a member of GCCVB.

She worked in human services much of her life. She was a former member of the Morris Grange in Knox County and Berlin United Methodist Church. She was a former secretary at Frederickstown High School.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Robert Phleger.

She leaves a daughter, Jennifer Phleger; her mother-in-law, Vera Phleger of London.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, London, with the Rev. Clarence Hensel officiating.

A time of fellowship will follow services in the fellowship hall of the church.

Anna Mae Rowney

HARRODSBURG, Ky. — Anna Mae Rowney, 65, of Sadieville, formerly of Harrodsburg, Ky, died Monday (Feb. 26, 2001) at Harrison Memorial Hospital, Cynthiana, Ky.

She was born May 17, 1935, in Quaker City, Ohio, daughter of the late Ben Thomas and Mary Magdalene Jewell Whiteley.

Mrs. Rowney retired from NCR.

She leaves three sons, Terry Richard Nelson of Harrodsburg, Jack Dewayne Nelson of Mackville, and B.J. Misner of Burnet, Texas; three daughters, Bonnie Jean Fry of Quaker City, Linda Mae Nelson Hamilton of Cynthiana, and Connie Magdalene Nelson of Somerset; five brothers, George Whiteley, Harmon Whiteley, Roy Whiteley, Lloyd Whiteley and Wayne Whiteley; three sisters, Edna Lipert, Wilma Jean Duncan and Linda Clay; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, with services to follow at 3 p.m. with Danny Broce officiating.

Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Salvisa, Ky.

Leslie A. Clagett

NEW CONCORD — Leslie A. Clagett, 66, of New Concord, died Tuesday (Feb. 27, 2001) at his home.

Arrangements are pending at Mock-Miller Funeral Home, New Concord.

Ronnie Fry services

BYESVILLE — Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at Black Family Funeral Service, Byesville, for Ronnie Fry, 56, of Cumberland, who died Monday (Feb. 26, 2001) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge.

The Rev. Bill Pickenpaugh will officiate. Burial will be in Cumberland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

He was born April 5, 1944, son of Molly Marie (Baker) Church of Caldwell, and the late Willard Malone Fry.

Mr. Fry was retired. He was a former employee of Jonathan Bye Industries. He enjoyed keeping his cars clean.

He was preceded in death by two sons and two brothers.

He leaves his wife, Diane (Bucy) Fry of Cumberland; three sons, Bobby (Bonnie) Fry of Quaker City, Frederick Fry of Georgia, and Ronnie Fry Jr. of the home; three daughters, Tina McCallen of Columbus, Mrs. Scott (Kathy) Milner of Byesville, and Tinnany Fry of the home; two brothers, Walter Fry and Terry Fry, both of Caldwell; and five grandchildren.

Mildred Fern Davis services

BARNESVILLE — Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, Barnesville, for Mildred Fern Davis, 90, of Crestview Health Care Center, St. Clairsville, and formerly of Barnesville, who died Tuesday (Feb. 27, 2001) at the center.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Morristown.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

She was born June 16, 1910, in Belmont County, daughter of the late Abner and Mary Olive (Dunn) Davis.

Miss Davis was a Methodist by faith. She did farming and was an employee of the former Hansley Mills of Barnesville.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

She leaves a sister, Gail Inherst of Barnesville; and several nieces and nephews.

Glenna (Miley) Stewart services

SENECAVILLE — Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Senecaville United Methodist Church, Senecaville, for Glenna (Miley) Stewart, 92, of South Boston, Va., formerly of Senecaville, who died Monday (Feb. 26, 2001) at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, Va.

The Rev. Ralph Summer will officiate. Burial will be in Senecaville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.

She was born Oct. 21, 1908, in Pleasant City, daughter of the late David and Bessie DeLong.

Mrs. Stewart was a homemaker and an active member of Senecaville United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the United Methodist Women and past member of the choir. She was a charter member of the Faithful Few Sunday school class at the church.

She was preceded in death by two husbands; a daughter, Evelyn Kelly; her foster parents, Mancel and Letha Murphy; three brothers; and two sisters.

She leaves a son, Mancel “Sonny” (Joy) Miley of South Boston, Va.; eight grandchildren, Anita Rae Kelly of South Carolina, Kenneth E. Miley of Georgia, Harmon L. Miley of North Carolina, Howard J. Miley, Wayne R. Kennedy, Ronald T. Lacko and Ted K. Lacko, all of Virginia, and Peggy L. Khoen of Indiana; 14 great-grandchildren, Kenneth Miley Jr. of Georgia, Cathy Miley of North Carolina, Amy Miley, Brandon Miley, Travis Lacko, Justin Lacko, Brandon Lacko, Ryan Larson, Donald Kennedy and Evelyn Berry, all of Virginia, Angela Raineri, Sharyn Krajewski and Jackie Sulich, all of Illinois, and Jennie Khoen of Florida; seven great-grandchildren, Eric Kennedy, Bryce Berry, Chandler Berry and Mason Berry, all of Virginia, and Jacob Sulich, Lily Joy Raineri and Nicholas Raineri, all of Illinois.

Memorial contributions may be made to Senecaville United Methodist Church or the church of one’s choice.

Elizabeth “Betty” (MacConkey) McCoy services

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, for Elizabeth “Betty” (MacConkey) McCoy, 72, of Cambridge, who died Monday (Feb. 26, 2001) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge.

The Rev. Drs. Kenneth Kettlewell and Terry Litton, and the Rev. Robert Millspaugh will officiating. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Virginia C. Jackson services

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, for Virginia C. Jackson, 88, of Portsmouth, currently of Cambridge, who died Monday (Feb. 26, 2001) at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cambridge.

The Rev. Bill Thomas and Pastor Dennis Rost will officiate. Burial will be in Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
