Harry W. Gibbs

NEWCOMERSTOWN — Harry W. Gibbs, 92, of Port Washington, died Thursday (Feb. 22, 2001).

He was born Feb. 23, 1908, in Vernon, Vt., son of the late William H. and Gertrude Dodge Gibbs.

He retired from Weyerhouser Lumber Company in Oregon, where he was a former tool and die maker. He was also a farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Belle Riddle Gibbs Emerson; a brother, Fred Gibbs; and a half-sister, Mildred Dickerman.

He leaves four daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Annabelle) Dean; Mrs. William (Betty) Bidinger and Mrs. Ed (Virginia) Diefenbaugh, all of Dover, and Mrs. George (Myrtle) Edwards of Somerset, Ky.; a son, William Gibbs of West Lafayette; a sister, Elizabeth Brookes of Sharon, Vt.; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Addy Funeral Home, where services will be 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Dr. Monte Canfield.

Burial will be in West Union Cemetery in Gilmore.

Juanita Hughes

PATASKALA — Juanita Hughes, 90, of Pickerington, died Thursday (Feb. 22, 2001) at Newark Health Care .

She was a former member of Church of Christ in Christian Union and presently a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Pickerington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelvy Hughes; parents, Scott and Lucy Story; and two sisters.

She leaves her daughter, Ramona Adams of Pickerington; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Warren F. Kauber Funeral Home in Pataskala from 4 to 7 p.m. today, where funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday with Pastor Ellen Morris officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Columbus.

Eugene Wade

FREEPORT — Eugene Wade, 78, of Freeport, died Saturday (Feb. 24, 2001) at his residence.

He was born Nov. 9, 1922, in Gilmer, W. Va., son of the late William Hazel Wade and Bonnie Ruth Campbell Wade

He served his country in the United States Army from 1940 to 1945 and in the United States Navy from 1947 to 1950. He retired in 1985 from Terry Machine of Waterford, Mich., where he was a superintendent. He was formerly employed by White Motors of Cleveland. He loved to fish and hunt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Tutor Wade, who died in 1984. They were married in Mississippi on March 3, 1949. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Hayward Leon Wade and James William Wade.

He leaves a stepson, John Harlow of Kentucky; a brother, Kenneth Wade of Weston, W. Va.; several step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

Friends and family may call 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Koch Funeral Home in Freeport. Military services and burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Patterson Union Cemetery in Deersville with the Rev. Ward Murray officiating.
