CUMBERLAND — Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Tom and Farus Funeral Home, Cumberland, for James M. Ford, 87, of Cambridge, formerly of Cumberland, who died Sunday (Feb. 18, 2001) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge.

The Rev. Rollin Steele will officiate. Burial will be in Cumberland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Valley Masonic Lodge will have Masonic services at 6:45 p.m.

He was born March 13, 1913, in Cambridge, son of the late George and Mary (Millone) Ford.

Mr. Ford was a farmer of cattle and crops. He was a member of Buffalo Presbyterian Church, Cumberland; and Point Pleasant Masonic Lodge 360 for more than 50 years, where he served as past master. He was a 32nd degree Mason.

He was a 50-year member of Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department, and one of the founding members.

He served as a former mayor of Cumberland, and was responsible for the first stop-light in Cumberland. He was a Cumberland School Board member, and served on the consolation board when Cumberland Schools decided to go to Meadowbrook. He also served on Cumberland Village Council.

He was preceded in death by a brother, George L. Ford.

He leaves his wife of 65 years, Ruth K. (Conner) Ford, whom he married Dec. 23, 1936; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Dee) Roberts of Spring, Texas, and Mrs. Dave (Carolee) Ogle of Cambridge; four grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren.

Helen Mary (Eddy) Hall

BARNESVILLE — Helen Mary (Eddy) Hall, 83, of Barnesville, died Tuesday (Feb. 20, 2001) at her home.

Arrangements are pending at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, Barnesville.
